the words beyond my jewelry
the words beyond my jewelry is an evolving collection that will expand in time. It is inspired by Join, a pendant that, at some point, began to question its role and wanted to share its story. The collection entails old and new pieces regardless of the year of creation or the concept behind them. The real focus here is just on messages and stories.
A dialogue between THE FOREST, THE DESERT and THE OCEAN
[…] Forest: Yes, probably. But we all know how much the planet needs peace. Why do you think it won’t last?
Desert: Because this is not peace. It comes from fear.
Desert: Humans must be terrified by something. This is the reason they all seem so quiet, lately.
Forest: Something that terrifies them? What can it be?
Desert: Honestly, I have no idea.
Ocean: Come on, don’t make it so complicated! Could it just be that humans have chosen peace?
Desert: No, I don’t think so. They are not ready yet.
Ocean: And why shouldn’t they be? […]
THE MEANING OF TIME
The story of LA ROSE
[...] How was it possible I never thought of that before? How can one be so oblivious? I still cannot express in words the importance of that realization. After a life of suffering, I could finally perceive the reality from the right perspective and, believe me, that’s invaluable.
In a moment, everything felt different. I found myself overwhelmed by something new and unexpected. I had never experienced that before, but I knew it to be pure joy. There was peace all around, a deep sense of fulfillment wherever I turned and looked. Nothing seemed to exist anymore even though everything was present.
I would have wanted to move, speak, do something, but I closed my eyes and stayed still. [...]
IMAGINATION DOESN'T TAKE MUCH EFFORT
The story of CONFETTI
[…] Then, just when I thought we would all die from sadness, something occurred.
There was a slight, slithering noise, and before we could understand what was happening, we heard some words. “Come on, fellows… we can’t lay here forever.” Stick Five had finally and bravely broken the silence. He uttered a deep, heavy sigh, and slowly went on: “Something… something can still be done.” His voice was hoarse but determined, his entire body shaking, but struggling to gather strength and move.
As if inspired by him, Stick Four reached out, trying to help. [...]
A dialogue between STONES
[...] Teal Stone: And isn’t that a problem? I mean, do you really think it is ok to be simple?
Purple Stone and Written Stone: Sure it is!
Teal Stone: But we are a brooch! And a brooch is not supposed to be…
Written Stone: Why not? A brooch is a brooch. Forget about being supposed.
Purple Stone: Written is right.
Teal Stone: I’m very confused.
Purple Stone: It looks like you are confusing being simple with being of no value [...]
DO YOU DREAM IN COLOR?
The story of VEILLUSION
[...] In time, I grew convinced that the purpose of dreams is to help us better understand ourselves and our lives. This persuaded me even more about them being real. But it was only when I was asked an illuminating question, that I found my truth about dreams.
A man, who probably knew this passion of mine, approached me with an open smile and asked: ‘Do you dream in color?’ [...]
MY FRIEND'S EYES
The story of BALOO
[...] No need to say that this makes me feel uncomfortable, even embarrassed at times. I don’t know what to do nor what to answer. I’m sure that if I told them I didn’t put on weight, they wouldn’t believe me. And honestly I understand them because they perceive me just as the mirror does. They see me chubby!
I must confess that I also tried to be more active recently. I started running, swimming, working out at the gym, but nothing has changed.
I’m getting so used to people making remarks on my appearance that yesterday, when I met a friend I hadn’t seen for more than six months, I was surprised he didn’t even touch the subject. [...]
THE WEAKEST ONE
A dialogue between JUMPING COLORS
[…] Purple: Your enthusiasm is contagious! How can you do that?
Blue: I do nothing. I just jump.
Purple: No, seriously, can I ask you a question?
Purple: How is it you are never tired of all this jumping?
Blue: Sometimes I am. I do feel tired or sick. I have good days and bad days, just like you.
Purple: I can’t believe it. We have always jumped together, but I never heard you saying you were sick or tired. Not even once!
Blue: Listen, this is what you…
Purple: Don’t be nice to me. I know I’m the one who gets tired, the one who is always complaining… I’m the weakest, and you are the strongest.
Blue: That’s your opinion.
Purple: That’s what I see. Have you ever stopped jumping? […]
WHO AM I?
The story of JOIN
[...] New questions came up. ‘Who am I?’ ‘What’s my purpose?’ ‘Is there more than hanging on a necklace?’ ‘What’s the meaning of a pendant?’ And, then again, ‘Am I just a pendant?’
No. I didn’t feel like I was just a pendant anymore.
Something had happened inside me, something that made me change how I see the world. And once it happens, you can’t go back. So I decided to embrace my path with no fear and live my life from a different perspective. [...]
